Social & Emotional

It’s common in our fast-paced world for kids to experience emotional, academic, and social stress.

While most are resilient in the face of adversity, others need extra help and support to successfully navigate life’s ups and downs. As parents, we may not know when or why our kids are struggling emotionally and often feel unsure how to offer appropriate guidance and support.

Finding the balance between setting limits and promoting independence can be especially tricky when our children cope with stress in unhealthy ways.

If your child is chronically irritable, anxious, withdrawn, or moody, working with a therapist may be helpful.

We offer individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults. Using principles and techniques of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), we enjoy helping young people develop self-regulation, social-emotional coping, and communication skills to promote emotional health and interpersonal success.

In our Building Emotional Competence skills groups, we teach adolescents social and emotional life skills in a safe, supportive, and creative environment. We help teens develop their own toolbox of practical, effective, and evidence-based strategies to help them
• Regulate emotions & cope with stress
• Become more self-aware
• Reduce impulsive behaviors
• Solve problems & make healthy decisions
• Build & improve interpersonal relationships
